BBQ Chicken Burgers

BBQ Chicken is one of my favorite meals to indulge in- it’s comforting, pretty effortless & always delivers.  We love using ground chicken in our burgers; typically to lighten up our meal but this recipe is quite the exception!  It’s definitely not the healthiest meal but it could be worse… and everything in moderation, right?! 😉

We laid it all on in this BBQ Chicken Burgers recipe; topping our burgers with cheddar cheese, bacon & tangy, smoky barbecue sauce.  Our typical favorite and an easy “crowd pleaser” is Sweet Baby Ray’s.  We were fortunate to have some leftover barbecue sauce from Cook’s in Lexington, NC- home of the BEST brisket.  If you’re ever remotely in the area (middle of nowhere NC), do yourself a favor, google map it & travel WAY off the beaten path to get there!  Lexington, NC deems themselves as the BBQ Capital of the World, along with many other cities like Memphis and Kansas City and Cook’s brisket is top notch!  Their BBQ sauce is super smoky & you can taste the years of smoke built up in both their brisket and BBQ sauce.  Feel free to use whichever BBQ sauce you prefer; the classic combination of flavors will be sure to satisfy your taste buds!

These BBQ Chicken Burgers have me ready to jump right into summer and cool off with a dip in the pool, ocean & enjoy a burger with an ice cold beer!  What recipes are you looking forward to cranking out of your kitchen this spring/summer?!
