Buffalo Chicken Burgers with Purple Tabasco Slaw

Q (the chef behind the scenes) & I love making all different kinds of burgers, primarily with ground chicken or turkey.  In my opinion, chicken tastes better & doesn’t dry out- plus it’s cheaper than ground turkey most weeks at the grocery store!  We had wanted to try out our idea for quite some time & I’m happy to say we finally bit the bullet burger! This hybrid of delicious chicken wings & grilled burgers did not disappoint.  They’ll be a staple on our summer burger menu!

Buffalo Chicken Burgers with Purple Tabasco Slaw


  • For the burgers:
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 cup celery
  • 1/4 cup bleu cheese crumbles
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slider buns
  • 2 tsbp canola oil
  • reserved Frank’s Red Hot sauce
  • reserved bleu cheese crumbles
  • For the Slaw:
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp Tabasco
  • 2 medium carrots shredded
  • 1 small head red cabbage thinly sliced (we used our mandolin)
  • salt & pepper to taste


  1. For the burgers, mix the first 6 ingredients together and form into 6 equal sized sliders. Heat oil over medium-high heat in your sautee or grill pan. Grill the burgers 6-8 minutes per side. Spoon slaw on each bottom bun, placing a burger on top, sprinkle with bleu cheese crumbles & drizzle with your favorite hot sauce (we used Frank’s.)
  2. To make the slaw, whisk together the vinegar, ketchup, sugar & hot sauce (of your choice.) Add the carrots and cabbage, season with salt & pepper, taste & adjust seasonings to your liking.
