A quick post today due to some technical difficulties (I swear they’re never ending lately!) including my product collage being a little wonky! Mother’s Day is right around the corner (next Sunday, May 8th for those that need a reminder!) and it’s important we honor all of the mothers & grandmothers in our lives. We’re not much of gift givers in my family- we’d rather do something to create a memory/experience but if gifts are your thing (more power to ya!), I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites above. Other ideas include, cooking or taking your mom to her favorite/or trying a new restaurant for brunch, lunch or dinner, planning a fun picnic in the park/by the pool/at the beach, compiling your favorite photos over the years and putting together an album, the list could go on. Do ya’ll have any ideas and suggestions that I should add to my list?! Regardless of what you choose to do for/give your moms, you can’t go wrong when it’s from the heart, thoughtful and special. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms that are near and dear to me, including my own mom, Quentin’s mom and all of my sweet mama friends! Thank you for all you do!! I hope your days are filled with joy and LOVE!
Friday Faves is back and here to stay! It has been a long time since I’ve compiled my favorites of the week here on casualonthecoast.com. I’ve truly missed these posts but they take a little bit longer for me to create being that I am a somewhat beginner in Photoshop! Life has been busy lately as I’m sure it is for all of you as well, which is why I haven’t been posting recipes as often either.
I’m hoping to reset and refresh this weekend and work on creating recipes and more content to post in the coming weeks. I do have some fun posts coming up in the next few weeks with some tasty recipes paired with even better wine choices!
Now let’s get to the fun stuff- SANDALS!!! Shoes are easily my favorite item to purchase and are the most justifiable. Your shoe size rarely ever changes so it’s worth investing in a good pair (or 5!) of sandals for this spring & summer. If you have uncomfortable, poorly made shoes, it can lead to bigger issues with your feet, knees, hips, back, etc. While I do love a deal, some budget friendly options are more comfortable & better made than others. Personally, I’ve found sandals from Gap, Old Navy & Target to be great affordable options (pairs #1-4.) I ordered #2 but they’re on back order; they have gotten great reviews and I’m excited to add them to my arsenal! I’m sale stalking #5; while they are super on trend with the intricate design, I’ll be able to wear them for years because they’re a neutral! I love #6 as well and they even come in a taller wedge for all you petite or ambitious girls who can handle the height. Steve Madden (#7) is another great place to find budget friendly, quality made sandals. You can most often find the brand on sale at department stores like Macy*s or Belk. I highly recommend sticking to a neutral palate when buying a more trendy item. It easily allows for you to get lots of use out of it because it still has the classic element of a neutral.
What spring/summer sandals are you all currently lusting for?!

With the holiday season in full swing (how did that happen so quickly?!) I wanted to showcase just a few of the amazing shops we have to choose from here in Southeastern North Carolina. If you’re not local to this area, all of my choices have online ordering options. If you’re not into online shopping, I encourage you to shop local in your own communities!
