Friday Faves- Beach Essentials Edition

With temperatures rising and summer quickly approaching, I wanted to share some of my beach necessities.  I love going to the beach anytime of the year but enjoy it most in the summer when I can soak up the sunshine and swim in the water.

Most importantly, I never head to the beach without sunscreen.  Taking care of our skin is so important and a detail that I refuse to overlook.  I love the Coola brand of sunscreens; and swear by their mineral face tint & wear it year round, even under my makeup.  This cute little kit would be perfect to toss in your beach bag (love this Gap option or this one from World Market) when you’re heading to the beach/pool/boat.

To protect my face from the sun, I always wear a hat.  I really like this floppy hat because it is so chic but also shades your chest/upper arms as well.  I can’t leave home without a pair of polarized sunglasses to protect my eyes.  I’m eyeing these classic Ray Ban Aviators or this Smith Optics Cat Eye pair.  One of the best purchases to date I’ve made is this Tommy Bahama umbrella.  It’s super easy to set up & has yet to fly away (the most annoying hassle) even on the windiest of beach days.

My trusty Tommy Bahama backpack chair is convenient for transport in case I need to use my hands to carry things.  We can never have too many beach towels, they always seem to disappear!  I love this adorable set of flamingo beach towels.  How about pairing it with this adorable flamingo bathing suit?  Complete your look with a simple cover up and you are ready to hit the beach in style!

I love bringing a portable speaker to the beach to listen to music.  We love to pack a cooler (similar to this one) filled with plenty of water, drinks and easy to “make ahead” food items.  Our go to beach side lunch is a “make ahead” sandwich or wrap with pasta salad.  They both transport easily and allow for no fuss at the beach and fun in the sun!
