Spiced Mulled Wine

Mulled Wine MulledWine-2

Summer is over and red wine is back on my radar!  It just doesn’t cut it like a cold beer or glass of iced white wine does when it’s hot & humid out!  Mulled wine is a foolproof way to doctor up your cheap jug wine.  Stretching my dollar further by infusing budget friendly wine to make me feel all warm & fuzzy inside?!  I’m all in!  It’d be a great thing to serve at an upcoming holiday party, family get together or pot-luck dinner!  Do you have a favorite warm, seasonal drink?!  Comment below & let me know!

Spiced Mulled Wine

  • 1.5 liter bottle Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 orange, juiced & zested
  • 1/2 cup brandy (optional)
  • 1/2 cup honey or sugar
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 star anise
  • additional cinnamon sticks & orange slices for garnish

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a pot on your stove, bring mixture to a boil, reduce to simmer for 10-15 minutes. Feel free to adjust the spice levels to your liking. Strain & serve with additional orange slices & cinnamon sticks for garnish.
