Steak Lettuce Wraps with Cucumber Ginger Salsa

This recipe is the ultimate crowd pleaser especially perfect for your Super Bowl parties!  It’s light, refreshing & guilt free so it won’t completely wreck your New Year’s Resolutions, if you’re still keeping up with them! :)  The lettuce wraps are easy to prepare and assemble ahead of time so that you can focus on your guests and the game!  The leftover steak can be re-purposed over rice, stir fried veggies or tacos which is how we recreated our leftovers!  What are your favorite guilt-free appetizers?!  Comment below and let me know.  We are always looking for ways to lighten up our menu!

Steak Lettuce Wraps with Cucumber Ginger Salsa


  • For the marinade:
  • • 2 lbs flank steak
  • • 2 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • • 2 tsp low sodium soy sauce
  • • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • • 1 tsp honey
  • • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • • 1 tsp korean BBQ sauce
  • • 1 tsp sweet chili sauce
  • • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • • 1/2 tsp peanut oil
  • • 3 cloves of garlic, smashed
  • • juice of 1/2 a lime
  • For the salsa:
  • • 1/2 small english cucumber diced
  • • 1/4 cup sliced green onion
  • • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • • juice of 1/2 a lime
  • • salt & pepper to taste
  • For assembly & garnish:
  • • butter lettuce leaves
  • • chopped peanuts
  • • thinly sliced fresh mint
  • • Sriracha Hot Sauce (optional)


  1. Combine all of the ingredients for the marinade in a sealable bag; season steak liberally with salt & pepper and place in bag.
  2. Marinate for a minimum of 4 hours, overnight if you have time.
  3. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and grill steak for 5-6 minutes each side for medium rare.
  4. Remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Slice strips against grain and then cut into bite size pieces.
  6. Combine the ingredients for the salsa & season with salt & pepper to taste.
  7. Assemble your wraps by placing steak in lettuce leaf, topping with salsa and garnishing with peanuts, fresh mint & Sriracha
